You can do this work from the privacy of your own home! Looking for individuals who can carry the Open Hearth phone and answer it. You would typically carry the phone for 7 days at a time and it rings on a average of 3-7 times on weekdays. You would be qualifying the family to go into emergency shelter. This is a great opportunity for someone wanting to help the homeless and not neccesarily be on the "front lines" Being a screener gives you the opportunity to talk to a variety of individuals. Individual training is provided for this position.

Open Hearth Ministries is a program in Puyallup/East Pierce County that supplies short term shelter to homeless families that meet the criteria. We are made up solely of volunteers. Our funds come from the city, private donors, and local churches.
