Volunteer drivers assist us by picking up blood products from blood drives and delivering them to our Kearny Mesa facility as well as deliver equipment to our blood drives. Great customer service skills are important as you may come in contact with donors, hospital staff, Red Cross staff and other volunteers. Volunteers are required to attend two classes in preparation of becoming a driver. (Safety class and Defensive Driving) Our drivers need to have a clean driving record and be at least 21 years old. You'll be driving ARC vehicles (small vans) and need to have the ability to lift 20-50lbs. You will not be directly handling blood products as they are in wrapped boxes before they are driven to our facility. Currently, the Logistics department needs volunteers Monday-Friday from 7:30am-6:30pm. (You choose the hours and days that work best for you.) We ask for a commitment of volunteering at least one day a week.
