Have a green thumb? Or maybe just like to get outdoors and play in the dirt. Can't garden where you live? The gardens at Dinosaur Hill Nature Preserve in Rochester, MI require tender loving care and need your help. The Dinosaur Hill Garden Guild welcomes people who love to garden and would like to join a small fun loving group. Our emphasis is on learning about native plant gardening. Meetings this spring/summer (when necessary) (2014) are on Wednesdays from 10-12:00 at Dinosaur Hill Nature Preserve 333 North Hill Circle, Rochester, 48307. Lunch usually follows work sessions. Notices are sent out weekly, and cancellations because of weather are phoned or emailed. We hope gardeners will come with trowel, gloves, etc. For further information email hoyle@oakland.edu If you would like to garden but can't make Wednesdays let us know.

Description
Dinosaur Hill Nature Preserve, Inc. is a nonprofit educational corporation supported by memberships, grants, donations and fund raising projects. The preserve and nature center are very much an integral part of the Rochester community, enjoying the support and volunteer help of Rochester area residents and businesses. Many volunteer hours have been and continue to be spent in developing and maintaining the preserve, teaching of classes, as well as in helping with various fund raising projects. Sixteen acres of wood, meadow and stream, nestled in the midst of one of Rochester Michigan's neighborhoods and only 5 minutes from most shopping and business areas, Dinosaur Hill Nature Preserve provides a quiet oasis of natural beauty; the perfect opportunity to take a lunch-hour stroll through an enchanting winter wonderland or along a spring path rioting with color. Before you leave, don't forget to visit Dinosaur Hill's award winning nature center, the perfect setting for displaying nature's bounties and teaching her lessons. In the nature center you will find brochures describing the many programs Dinosaur Hill offers for groups, children, adults and families. Classes are small and are taught by experienced, professional staff.
