We Save Kitties at Risk (WSKR) is a non-profit, volunteer-based cat rescue in Tucson and we are actively looking for foster homes to help us in our mission to save the lives of kitties at risk in our community.
Sometimes all a kitty needs is a safe place to land. Can you make room for an at-risk kitty to "crash" at your place while waiting for a forever home?
As little space as a spare guest room or bathroom that isn't being used is enough space to save a kitty's life. Cats in shelters are at much higher risk, statistically, of being put to sleep than the dogs in shelters are. At some shelters, nearly 70% of all incoming cats never leave the shelter again. At WSKR, we are working hard to change that number. We may not change the world, but we change it for the kitties we rescue. You can be part of that by fostering.
When you foster for WSKR, we pay for necessary medical expenses and help with getting them new adoptive homes after the cat has recovered completely. All you provide is food, litter, a safe home and love, no other cost to you. Please contact us as soon as possible to help us save these babies! About We Save Kitties at Risk (WSKR) Cat Rescue
Location:
PO Box 13656, Tucson, AZ 85732, US
Mission Statement
Our mission is to rescue cats and kittens in southern Arizona animal shelters who are at risk of being euthanized for non-fatal conditions, rehabilitate them and then find them stable homes in the local communities. To participate in the education of the community about the principles of the No Kill movement, specifically as they pertain to Trap, Neuter, Return (TNR).
Description
WSKR is a run by a small group of volunteers scattered across the community. We are not operating out of a centralized shelter location, our foster volunteers open their homes to the kitties we rescue. This provides the kitties with as stable and home-like an environment as possible while they wait for their forever home to find them. We work closely with southern Arizona animal shelters to rescue cats and kittens who are at risk of suffering an unpleasant fate, we rehabilitate them and then work to help them find their forever homes. We work out of the Petsmart at Grant/Swan in Tucson to get our kitties exposure to find forever homes.
