Do you love working with children? Do you like to have fun? As a volunteer, you will do both. We have created a STEM camp for elementary age children. We have professional enrichment providers teaching, but help is needed to be able to give individual attention to the children. You will participate in the hands-on, super fun learning style as you help children work on their projects. Experience working with children is helpful; a desire to help children grow is essential. This program was created to benefit underprivileged children. Last year we were able to grant 26 full week scholarships. This year's goal is 50 weeks.
Each of the four camps run for one week. They are divided into four segments, so volunteer times are very flexible.

Mission Statement
Statement of Purpose
With the benefit of government grants and private donations, Science Matters Foundation is providing opportunities to low income families and underfunded school districts.
We offer both individual scholarships and entire science programs to schools with little or no science budget.
Our goal is to bring back excitement for science.
Description
Work with enough children and you will see that gifted minds are not exclusive to well funded families. Science enrichment programs abound for those who can afford them, but are missed opportunities for those who can't.
That is our motivation.
Our function is to create opportunities to those children and when donations allow, we target schools or school districts that are economically disadvantaged.
