Volunteer Today!
Join us in making a difference in the lives of local girls everyday.

Are you crafty (like Martha Stewart...not in a villainous way); organize like a Trapper Keeper; so good with children people have asked you to quit your day job and babysit for them? Are you interested in hosting a vibrant color bash, stylish masquerade, or discussing all the places girls can go with a Dr. Seuss celebration? Do you enjoy treasure hunts, albeit modern day ones, or swim parties? How about traveling to Europe, Costa Rica, or a little bit closer to home like New York? If you answered yes to any of these, then we’re in dire need of someone like you to help co-lead a troop in your community; by volunteering you’ll be advancing the opportunities for girls in West Virginia with tons of support from around the state. You will help them develop leadership skills through developing ways to discover themselves, connect with others, and take action to make the world a better place. **Passion and enthusiasm to inspire girls’ interests and curiosity required.**

Mission Statement

Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place.

Description

Founded in 1912, Girl Scouts of the USA is the preeminent organization for girls with a current membership of 3.6 million girls and adults. Volunteers use their expertise, skills, interests, and life experience to shape fun and enriching leadership experiences for girls, and inspire them to reach their personal best. Volunteers help council staff facilitate the New Girl Scout Leadership Experience to girls through exciting program opportunities: leadership/self-esteem, financial literacy, travel, health/wellness, science, technology, engineering, and math. Volunteers choose from several flexible Pathways (the ways that girls and adults join Girl Scouting) that fit their lifestyles, including short-term or long-term service working either directly or indirectly with girls, and they can participate regionally, nationally, and internationally.
