Want to help vulnerable people right in your own community? Mitzvah Circle Foundation needs Social Work students, or individuals with social work experience, to work as volunteers or interns helping those who are homeless, underserved and who fall through the cracks of traditional services. We cut through red tape to get essential items into the hands of those who need them.
Our Social Work Interns will assist with case management, advocacy and empowering the people we serve. This is an excellent opportunity for students seeking real-world experience in a grass roots, non-profit organization. Interns will be trained in a variety of skills to support people who are experiencing homelessness, poverty and hunger. Duties will include intake, data collection, ongoing support and assisting people during times of personal challenge in their lives. Interns will work directly with individuals, families and other social service organizations under the guidance of our foundation’s Executive Director. Schedule is Monday-Thursday mornings (some Sundays may be required). This internship is unpaid, but we will work with students toward academic credit.
Visit our website ( www.mitzvahcircle.org) to learn more, or see our work in action on Facebook ( www.facebook.com/MitzvahCircle). To apply, submit a current resume to Wendy Urban at the email listed.
