We are looking for a few special volunteers interested in mentoring and leading a troop for some 8th & 9th graders. These girls have been in the troop since kindergarten. They are looking for a special leader to help them explore future careers, take educational field trips and help them achieve Gold Awards--the top leadership awards in Girl Scouts. Parents are willing to assist, and they’re supportive. The girls are ready to take scouting to the next level! If you would like to mentor older youth and help them grow as individuals and leaders-- this group is for you!

About Girl Scouts of Colorado

Location:

3801 E. Florida Ave., #720, P.O. Box 9407, Denver, CO 80210, US

Mission Statement

Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.

Description

Founded in 1912, Girl Scouts of the USA is the preeminent organization for girls with a current membership of 3.6 million girls and adults. Volunteers use their expertise, skills, interests, and life experience to shape fun and enriching leadership experiences for girls, and inspire them to reach their personal best. Volunteers help council staff facilitate the Girl Scout Leadership Experience to girls through exciting program opportunities: leadership/self-esteem, financial literacy, travel, health/wellness, science, technology, engineering, and math. Volunteers choose from several flexible pathways (the ways that girls and adults join Girl Scouting) that fit their lifestyles, including short-term or long-term service working either directly or indirectly with girls, and they can participate regionally, nationally, and internationally.
