With the help of several community partners in the Newport, Oregon community Shangri-La is operating a Donation Center in Newport for disadvantaged individuals and families to fulfill their household and personal care item needs.

The Donation Center Connector is a social butterfly! If you are outgoing, friendly, organized, professional, motivated and care about helping members of your community, we want to meet you.

DUTIES:

1. Use a variety of tactics to cultivate donation center partners, donors and volunteers.
2. Attend community events and meetings to promote and raise awareness about the community donation center as both a client resource and donation beneficiary option.
3. Assist Shangri-La’s Communication Team with the creation of social media posts and print materials for the donation center.
4. Conduct community partner check-in calls, emails and visits.
5. Assist Shangri-La’s Volunteer Coordinator in the recruitment, intake and training of donation center volunteers.
6. Assist Shangri-La’s Development Director with resource acquisition activities to help sustain the future of the donation center.
7. Identify, update and promote the donation center’s wish list.
8. Maintain confidentially of clients at all times.
9. Attend and complete all necessary trainings and orientations prior to registering for shifts.

SCHEDULE & COMMITMENT:
Volunteers must commit to at least 5 hours per week Monday-Friday. The hours of this opportunity can be extended to accommodate internship requirements.

TRAINING & ORIENTATION REQUIREMENTS:

1. Complete a Donation Center Volunteer Application and Criminal History Check
2. Complete a Shangri-La Volunteer Orientation
