With the help of several community partners in the Newport, Oregon community Shangri-La is operating a Donation Center in Newport for disadvantaged individuals and families to fulfill their household and personal care item needs.
The Donation Center Coordinators are at the heart of the action! If you are organized, professional, motivated and care about helping members of your community, we want to meet you.
DUTIES:
- Attend and complete all necessary trainings and orientations prior to registering for shifts.
- Sign-up for donation center shifts using the online sign-up system.
- Arrive on-time to your scheduled donation center shifts. Notify supervisor of any schedule changes or absences as soon as they become known.
- Perform all daily donation center opening and closing procedures.
- Check the donation center’s email and message line and respond professionally to client and community member inquiries via phone or email.
- Schedule client donation center visits and donation pick-up and delivery.
- Receive, process, inventory, sort and display donations.
- Maintain an organized and welcoming donation center.
- Greet clients and donors with friendliness and exhibit excellent customer service skills.
- Maintain confidentially of clients at all times.
- Notify Donation Center Retrievers of upcoming donation pick-up or drop-off appointments.
- Complete other administrative tasks as assigned (write thank yous, filing, data entry, etc.)
SCHEDULE & COMMITMENT:
This volunteer opportunity is on-going. Volunteer will work with Volunteer Coordinator to identify service schedule based on the Donation Center's needs and the volunteer's availability.
TRAINING & ORIENTATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Complete a Donation Center Volunteer Application and Criminal History Check
