At New Ground Bothell, our transitional home for young mothers ages 18-21, residents are either pregnant or parenting their first child. Our staff offers supportive case management services that help residents set goals, complete their GED, high school, or enter college courses, obtain employment, secure childcare, apply for health care and much more on an as-needed basis. Each month the staff at New Ground host a house meeting to bring together the residents and discuss important items. This meeting is an opportunity for the residents to building community and is made awesome when food is provided! The staff was providing some type of food item with each meal, but with the cost of food and the lack of time with the case managers it has become to difficult.
This is a great group opportunity, where you can put the meal together in one volunteer's kitchen and the meal can either be dropped-off or two volunteers can stay to serve if they are interested.
Next available dates needing a meal donation are: September 25th, October 23rd, November 27th.
Requirements:
-Fill out Friends of Youth's Volunteer Application
-Sign Friends of Youth's Confidentiality Agreement
-The main contact for a group or individual needs to be 21 years of age or older
-Of the two people who stay to serve, one needs to be 21 years of age or older
For more information about this opportunity or questions please follow up with the volunteer coordinator. The coordinator can be reached either by responding to this opportunity or by email volunteer@friendsofyouth.org.
