Novus is currently seeking volunteers to assist in the Bereavement Department of our organization.
A caring volunteer interested in helping call and send cards to families that have recently lost a loved one.
Our bereavent program supports families for 13 months following the death of a patient. Volunteers call to check in on families and offer support.
Volunteers may also assistance at quarterly bereavement activities.
A majority of the work can be done from the volunteer's own home.

Description
Patient visitation, life review, discuss hobbies and interests, current events, read or sing to patients. Accompany patient outside if appropriate, companionship and socialization report progress to hospice team. Volunteer may sit with a patient while caregiver runs errands, but no hands-on care. compassionate, caring, good listening skills, able to sit quietly at times if needed. Interest in others and their life's stories, have own transportation, able to complete and send in documentation after each visit.
