Volunteers of America Texas is in search of a passionate and energetic leader to organize music classes for our clients at Dartmouth, a group home for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
The Music Teacher will have the opportunity to teach basic music playing as well as play an instrument for the enjoyment of the residents. They will help the residents with the new instruments and assist them with any questions. With volunteers serving in this capacity, it allows the individuals participating in the class to socialize with a new face and remain mentally engaged. They will also have the opportunity to learn a new skill and gain a creative outlet.
Volunteers with previous experience with leading music groups, knowledge of music, and desire to work with disabled adults are welcome to apply.
