Seeking licensed social workers to assist a new MD nonprofit designed to care for widows and widowers of all ages.

Widow Care is seeking local social workers to assist in any of the following four flexible roles:

1) Assist us in our intake and assessment process by meeting with widows and widowers in their homes for a 1 hour consultation. Based on the availability of the member and social worker volunteering with Widow Care. No client follow up is required after the consultation.(4-6 hours a month).

2.) Assist in facilitating semi-structured social events for widows and widowers to build friendships with one another. These events occur once a month on a weekend. Our social committee coordinates the details and logistics of each event. A social worker is present to help create the content of the gathering to ensure that the right tone and atmosphere is achieved among widows and widows at varying stages of grief and recovery. (4-6 hours a month).

3.) Partner with us to research and compile local and online resources to help widowed members through the grieving process. This can be done from home (8 hours a month).

4.) Manage 1-2 individual widow files to ensure that our widowed members are receiving the care and support they need through Widow Care services and referrals. Enjoy building a personal relationship and friendship with each widow you serve as you become the point person to connect them to desperately needed esources. (8 hours a month).
