IDEAS is passionate about bringing freedom to the Dalits of India! This program is designed for experienced financial and business professionals to learn the finance processes and management of our partner school system in India. The Dalits, also known as the "untouchables" and "outcastes," make up nearly one quarter of India’s 1.2 billion society, with population estimates of 250 million people. The Dalits are history’s longest standing oppressed people group.

By all research and reports, the Dalits also constitute the largest number of people categorized as victims of human trafficking and human enslavement in any single nation on earth. Partnerships with local organizations provide opportunities in community development, medical services, women’s empowerment projects, education and job creation for the Dalits of India. These successful efforts are giving the Dalits hope in breaking free from their long cycle of oppression.

In this program you will have the ability to use your skills to:

• Work alongside the partner organization’s CFO and senior financial management team to learn all about the organization’s financial processes with the intent on becoming proficient and able to train others.
• Travel to regional locations within India to conduct audits and train field staff in appropriate financial processes.
