As a sub-grantee of the National Mentoring Program of Catholic Charities USA, the Piedmont Triad Office of Catholic Charities in Winston-Salem is developing a small mentoring program. Catholic Charities is recruiting adults who want to make a difference in a youth’s life to mentor youth between 10-17 years of age. A specific need is for bilingual men and women to mentor Hispanic youth. Mentors must be 21 years of age, reside in the Piedmont Triad area, agree to a firm 1-year commitment to spending 2-3 hours a week with a youth, complete a screening process that includes background checks, attend required initial and ongoing training, have reliable transportation, a current driver’s license, insurance, and a good driving record; and regularly communicate with the program coordinator. Interested persons should contact Charlene Hudson at 336-714-3213 or email at cmhudson@charlottediocese.org
