The sport of polo was first played more than 2,000 years ago, making it one of the oldest team sports in history. The tradition continues in the Triangle with beautiful equine athletes and their mounts competing at top speeds in an exhilarating competition sure to thrill those in attendance.

Competing in the charity match for the TAPC will be club owner David Brooks, a professional player who started the Club to get people in the Triangle involved in the sport. The club is sanctioned by the U.S. Polo Association (USPA), the sport’s national governing body, and offers lessons for people of all skill levels, safe and dependable polo ponies for rent or sale and organized polo leagues. TAPC also welcomes spectators to free Sunday Polo exhibitions in the spring, summer and fall at Crooked Creek Farm in Hurdle Mills.

"We are looking forward to a friendly, competitive polo match and introducing attendees to the fast paced action," said Triangle Polo Club Owner, David Brooks. "We are fortunate to have the opportunity to help raise awareness and funds to support such a wonderful charity in Guiding Lights Caregiver Support Center," added Brooks. "This particular charity and its mission resonate with many people, as everyone is touched by caregiving and will or has found themselves in the role as a caregiver."

"Guiding Lights has served over 4,000 caregivers who are assisting loved ones, typically older adults, since opening in 2010. Most of our programs and services are offered to caregivers at no charge, so we absorb a majority of the costs to provide information, referral education and support to caregivers in our community," said Executive Director,Nicole Bruno. "We are so grateful to the Triangle Area Polo Club for putting on this charitable event to help us continue our work."
