We are hosting a "Dude's Day" to pamper and serve the men in our shelter and are looking for licensed or student barbers who could provide haircuts at the event. This will be a wonderful way to show the men in our homeless shelter that you care. It is amazing what a haircut can do to boost self-esteem and to help someone look great for a job or housing interview! We will have games, refreshments, give-aways for the shelter residents and before and after photos taken of the haircut recipients. Come and join this uplifting and fun event!

The People Concern believes no one should have to live on the street or in a violent household. Our staff, volunteers and those we serve work together to address the effects of homelessness, poverty, mental and physical illness, abuse and addiction. Our programs empower the most vulnerable among us to improve their quality of life - housed, healthy and safe - and become active participants in the community. We also work to educate the broader community and improve public policy.
Description
The People Concern empowers the most vulnerable among us to rebuild their lives. As one of Los Angeles County’s largest social services agencies, we provide a fully integrated system of care - including mental and medical health care, substance abuse services, and housing - tailored to the unique needs of homeless individuals, survivors of domestic violence, challenged youth, and others who have nowhere else to turn.
