Volunteers run all of our major operations, Hurricane Simulator, Earthquake Simulator and BioWorks Butterfly Garden. The volunteers interested in those positions will be doing public speaking, informing guests of the science behind each of the operations (information provided), and ensuring the safety of each our guests.

Volunteers must be comfortable speaking to large groups of guests in all areas. Volunteers must be able to commit to 18 days of volunteering. The 18-day commitment consists of 9 full-day shifts on a Saturday and 9 full-day shifts on a Sunday. Volunteers are more than welcome to volunteer more than 18 days. A full-day shift during the week is 9:30-5pm and a full-day shift during the weekend is 9:30 am - 6pm. Once volunteers have reached 150 volunteer hours they will receive a FREE family membership of 4 to MOSI. MOSI is open 365 days a year. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday 10am-5pm and weekends from 10am-6pm. Volunteers must pay the $50 applicaiton fee and attend a mandatory volutneer orientation before they can begin to volunteer at MOSI.
