Do you belong to a group interested in giving back?
CATRA has opportunities for groups interested working together to support the local community.
Since 1985 the Capital Area Therapeutic Riding Association (CATRA) has offered an opportunity for Capital Area residents from all generations with all types of special and typical needs to establish an atmosphere of support, respect, and health in an equestrian farm environment while offering a therapeutic riding experience to those able to benefit from it.
All work is outside or in one of the facility's barns. Typical group work may include cleaning stalls or paddocks, lawn or garden care, and/or general facility maintenance. No special skills required.

Description
CATRA is a horse farm in Grantville, PA, where special needs children and adults ride horses for therapy and recreation. We believe in pet therapy, as well, so we have many animals besides horses, including dogs, cats, donkeys, mules, goats, miniature horses, guinea pigs, rabbits, chickens, and a pig. The farm is run by volunteers. Social opportunities for rider families and volunteers include horse shows, 4-H, picnic, Valentine party, bowling party, holiday party, and organization fundraisers CATRA-Thon and the "Miles for Smiles" Motorcyle Ride.
