What is JA Fellows?
JA Fellows is an 18-week after-school program that provides driven high school students a unique, real world experience into world of business. This is a "learn by doing" program where students work in teams of 15-20 to conceptualize, capitalize and manage a small business.
Work with a team of volunteers coaching and advising students throughout the entire process. The program culminates at the Atlanta annual competition where teams showcase their businesses success and compete for awards, scholarships, internships, and title of "Company of the Year."
Why Volunteer?

- Enhance and build communication, leadership and management skills
What does it mean to be a JA Fellows volunteer?
Volunteers are Volunteers participate in a training session where they receive a volunteer program guide outlining tasks and objectives for each meeting. Volunteers receive weekly Junior Achievement staff support throughout the duration of the program. Successful volunteers interweave their personal business experiences into the lessons and provide students with the guidance to "think outside the box."
JA Fellows Success
Two Junior Achievement of Georgia student companies competed against student companies from across the nation for 2013 Company of the Year at Junior Achievements' National Leadership Summit. Our Custom Coasters team was awarded Company of the Year.

TWO PROGRAMS TO GET INVOLVED:
1. Support GA Middle School Students - JA DISCOVERY CENTERS (JA BizTown or JA Finance Park): In a one day visit to JA BizTown or JA Finance Park, volunteers guide students as they progress through the interactive simulation to either help students run a business (JA BizTown) or help students budget as an adult for the day (JA Finance Park). JA BizTown and JA Finance Park provides middle school students with authentic and innovative learning experiences around professional business skills. There is no prior training or experience required, except volunteers must be 18 years or older.

2. Support GA High School Students - 3DE BY JA
3DE Re-engineers high school education through partnerships with the business community and school districts, creating a new model of experiential learning through real-life case challenges. Looking for skilled volunteers with knowledge of: CASE STUDY METHODOLOGY, PRESENTATION, POWERPOINT CREATION, CREATIVE PROBLEM SOLVING.
