The PATHWAYS Program at the Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology (MSPP) is seeking an AmeriCorps VISTA Volunteer to provide capacity-building assistance with a school-based program aimed at reducing rates of suspension and truancy among students in the Boston Public Schools. The Volunteer will (1) engage in community outreach efforts to raise awareness about the program; (2) identify community-based resources such as tutoring services, and career planning and job training opportunities for youth; (3) organize workshops and training sessions for caregivers and teachers; (4) seek funding support from local foundations; and (5) design promotional materials (e.g., brochures, flyers, newsletters, social media websites) for the program. This is an AmeriCorps VISTA Volunteer position. The volunteer must make a 1-year commitment to the program, and be available to work full-time from August 7, 2015 to August 6, 2016. Work hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., or 9 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
