The ESL Practice Program needs volunteers to assist our adult English language students with small group conversation practice or one-on-one writing tutoring.
Afternoon Conversation Groups (closed for the summer, resume October 1st):- When: Tuesdays and Thursdays
- Time: 1:00pm to 2:00pm
- When: Mondays and Wednesdays
- Time: 1:00pm to 2:00pm
- When: Wednesdays and Thursdays
- Time: 5:45pm to 6:45pm
- When: Wednesdays and Thursdays
- Time: 5:45pm to 6:45pm
Volunteers are asked to commit only one hour per week, though we are happy to have you more often if you like. Our students are very motivated and fun to work with, and they are very appreciative of any help you can give.

As a volunteer you become a member of a dedicated team that provides our English language learners with an opportunity to practice their English language skills: listening, speaking, and writing. Description
The English Language Center (TELC) is the largest English program in New York City. TELC is part of LaGuardia Community College's Division of Adult and Continuing Education. Since 1971, we have served over 275,000 students from over 80 countries. Our students are highly motivated and excited about the prospect of having lively and thought-provoking conversations with our volunteers.
