- A group opportunity. Invite your friends.
Please join CMLC on January 20th from 10am - 2pm for a day of downed tree removal, bridge construction, trail maintenance, and brush clean up. Florence Nature Preserve is home to some of the most popular hiking trails in the upper Hickory Nut Gorge region, and the property is owned and managed by CMLC.
Most of the work will be fairly strenuous physical labor, and may involve use of handtools such as pruners, loppers, or hand saws. All training, tools, and equipment will be provided, but don't forget to dress warm and bring a lunch!
After working in the upper section of the trails to clean up after the recent rainstorms, we'll take a hike to the top to see some of the major points of interest including two scenic overlooks that have great views in the winter.
