St. Croix Hospice is looking for kind, compassionate, and reliable individuals who are willing to spend at least an hour per week with a hospice patient. We match you with people who live near your home or work.
The role of a companion volunteer is to provide 1:1 interaction and friendship. You may simply sit, talk and share stories of growing up. The ideal outcome is to learn, listen, provide comfort, joy, dignity and respect.
There are families and patients in the Mankato,Northfield,Faribault, Albert Lea and surrounding communities who are looking for some extra help and support.
At St. Croix Hospice, it is our mission to provide the highest level of hospice care to patients and their families. We serve terminally ill patients throughout Minnesota and western Wisconsin; providing care wherever the patient calls home.
Volunteers often find this experience personally rewarding knowing they have made a real difference in a hospice patients end of life process.

Description
Originally founded in Minnesota, St. Croix Hospice is named after the St. Croix River. Symbols of change, rivers are restless, sometimes moving swiftly and other times peaceful and nearly still. Like life, rivers are not always easy to navigate, and it’s good to have a guide to help you through the difficult parts. We are here to guide your end-of-life journey with care and compassion.
Our clinical staff are professional, compassionate and award-winning. Our care team includes healthcare experts who believe in the power of hospice care to increase quality of life for all people approaching their final days.
