UniversalGiving™ is seeking a Web Designer to join our dynamic team. The Web Designer will have a profound impact on helping redesign key aspects of our website. Join our growing Product Development team, working with senior management, to create clear and effective web-based designs while furthering a worthy cause. Responsibilities include:

  • Implement key changes from Senior Management Team PD Plans, with an eye to results

  • Recommend visual design changes for new website components and existing interfaces

  • Create engaging visual concepts and designs that build upon usability and our branding

  • Work with senior leadership to finalize solutions, document & manage design project

  • Research and provide recommendations on web design standards, guidelines and trends

Qualifications:

  • Experience with web-based marketplace and checkout process REQUIRED. Please do NOT apply if you do not have online marketplace and checkout process experience.

  • Must have in-depth knowledge of industry standards for online shopping experience

  • Strong understanding of user experience

  • Proficiency designing for client-side web technologies including JQuery, AJAX, HTML, HTML5, CSS, LESS, and Javascript

  • Experience creating and updating designs in Adobe Photoshop

  • An eye for clean, concise visual/designs

  • Strong desire to expand pre-existing design ideas and create new designs

  • Ability to collaborate in fast-paced environment with clear communication skills

  • Interest in nonprofit work, international issues, philanthropy

Duration : Minimum 15-20 hours per week for 3-4 months required for the duration of the Returnship. Ideal candidates are available to work out of our San Francisco office 3-4 days a week with possibly some work completed remotely.

*Please note that Returnships are unpaid. In some cases, they can lead to paid positions with positive commitment, attitude, and performance.
