The Milton Food Pantry provides groceries and canned goods for individuals and family's that need food assistance. We are seeking volunteers for the follwing activities:

Food pantry stocking volunteers: carry boxes of donated food (up to 40 lbs) to stockroom and replenish shopping area. Ushers are occasionally needed to help clients through the pantry Saturday mornings 8:30am-noon.

Volunteer drivers: pick up food from the Greater Boston Food Bank once a month on weekdays, using their own large vehicle. Boxes weigh up to 40 lbs. Other drivers pick up donations at Hannafords Grocery on Saturday mornings.

Marketing Assistant: A volunteer who has a background in website design and management, newsletter publication, knowledge of powerpoint, and/or database skills.

Reception/Hotline Worker: A volunteer to operate a multi-line phone system, meet and greet visitors, answer hotline calls and give referrals, participate in telephone crisis counseling, prepare and process client intake, assist with record keeping, and prepare materials for mailings.

Food Pantry Worker: A volunteer to stock food pantry shelves (can be boxes up to 50 lbs), prepare food orders for delivery, receive and process food donations, sort donated items, assist with loading cars for deliveries, and keep work area tidy (may include light cleaning). Those unable to lift can supervise high school volunteers in the afternoons.

Grocery Deliverer: A volunteer (or a team of volunteers) to deliver weekly packaged meals to eligible recipients within the community of Quincy and its surrounding towns.

Volunteer opportunities include mentoring pre-release inmates, tutoring elementary school children, drivers for Veterans, meals on wheels and food pantires, friendly visiting, non-profit support services and many more! N.C. RSVP will find the volunteer opportunity that best fits your interests & schedule and impacts the needs that are most critical to our county's communities. N.C. RSVP provides mileage reimbursement, accident & liability insurance, an invitation to our annual recognition event, monthly newsletters, orientation & training.
