We realize that the best and the brightest students are seeking high-quality learning opportunities through hands-on experiences. Imagination Station is offering such an opportunity to highly motivated individuals as a part of our Food Service Management Team. Through this unpaid internship, you gain solid, real-life experience and become actively involved in many aspects of the food service industry including catering, management and dietetics.
Responsibilities:
Cafe:
- Day to day management - ordering food, quantities, labeling, food presentation
- Costumer service
- Cooking and running the kitchen
- Budgeting
- Food waste elimination
Catering:
- Catering for large events - working with outside caterers
- Ordering food, cooking large quantities, menu planning for meetings and events
Eat It Up Exhibition:
- In partnership with Promedica, we developed the "Eat it up" exhibition that teaches about healthy nutrition, portion size and making better nutritional choices.
- Provide food demonstrations to teach kids how to make healthy and simple snacks.
- Develop new nutrition-related activities for our visitors, and offer

- Create health- and nutrition-related educational curriculum.

Imagination Station employs their mission to impact:

  • Families - offering families an opportunity to learn together as a unit; exploring the science center, asking questions and sharing in the educational process, all while spending quality time together.
  • Schools - serving as an extension of the classroom, offering teachers valuable, academically aligned exhibit guides to enhance their students’ visit. Additionally, Imagination Station offers a wealth of inquiry-based activities on their website for use in the classroom or at home.
  • Community - participating as a responsible steward of the northwest Ohio community. The science center actively participates in community growth opportunities and educational partnerships.
