We need a volunteer to supervise new volunteers and explain to them how to complete the tasks before them. The task will be handing out free clothing to those in need at Women Infants and Children (WIC) in Champaign. We often have new volunteers who need to be guided through some simple steps of organizing clothing and distributing it. This position is intended to be every Tuesday from 12:45- 4pm. If you can serve the full day please see our Volunteer Coordinator position, which would also encompass this position. Please consider supporting His Kid's Closet with your time in this very rewarding opporutnity! If a smaller time commitment is what you're looking for check out our volunteer trainer position!

About His Kid's Closet
Location:
201 W Kenyon Road, Champaign, IL 61821, US
Mission Statement
His Kid's Closet's purpose is to help people in need by providing them with clothing and or other necessary items at little or no cost. Our purpose is to promote social welfare and relief of the poor and distressed or the underprivileged and to lead people to a meaningful relationship with God.
Description
His Kid's Closet takes donated clothing and redistributes it for free or at a low cost in the community. We are a federally tax exempt 501c3, making any donations tax deductible. We give out free clothes on Tuesdays at the Champaign WIC clinic from 9-4 volunteer support permitting. His Kid's Closet accepts donations and also accepts orders from school social workers for specific items. Teachers, parents and social workers are all welcome to identify needs and make requests. We also accept donations of non-necessity items in order to sell them to cover operational costs, as well as donations of necessity items which are sometimes sold at very low prices in order to help cover costs as well. For example we might sell a highchair or a stroller for $5, in order to see it get into the hands of someone who may NEED it. We envision growth to serve a larger portion of the community and see our overall goal as reducing local poverty, and aim to empower rather than enable our clients and hope to grow to this end.
