ORGANIZATION: Animal House Project

How much do you love your family pet? Ever wonder what would happen if you had to surrender your companion pet to a shelter simply because you could not afford to feed them or provide basic veterinary care? Let's join together to not have this happen to pet parents in our area!! To date, Animal House Project is feeding over 3995 companion pets per month and their familes are receiving assistance to keep their beloved pets in their homes where they belong.

If you care about animals as much as we do, consider getting involved. We have several volunteer opportunities to support Animal House Project's Companion Pet Food Pantry and keep animals in homes with their loved ones.

Donated Pet Food is distributed in two locations every month throughout the year. Volunteers are needed to assist with food distribution; inventory; client registration and new applications.

Downingtown - 3rd Saturday of each month - 11 am to 1 pm

Opportunities exist to meet your interest, time availablity and skill set.

Go to www.animalhouseproject.org and complete the volunteer application.

Description

Did You Know?

Of the many millions of dogs and cats surrendered to shelters or abandoned each year in the United States, approximately one million surrenders/abandonments were due to the owners financial inability to provide for the basic needs of their pets; pet food and veterinary care.

Have you ever wondered what would happen if you had to surrender your family pet(s) to a shelter simply because you could not afford to feed or provide basic veterinary care for them?

*Approximately 50% of pets surrendered to shelters never find a new home, and sadly, are euthanized.*

Our demographics - Who do we help?

Returning military veterans and their families; retired military veterans and seniors who are living on a fixed income; domestic violence families; medically stressed families - Cancer; Parkinson; ALS; MS and families that are still struggling from the recent COVID-19 Pandemic. We cut across all sectors of the populations and the need seems to be increasing not decreasing in people needing our help.
