District Development Director (Hawaii)

ORGANIZATION: Homeland Security Foundation of America

This is a volunteer opportunity; however, as we acquire adequate funding the successful candidate will have "first right of refusal" for a full-time job continuing their duties. We need serious applicants, and we will need you to commit several days per week to this effort.

HSFA is a public nonprofit agency; we need you to establish a rapidly growing base of volunteers in your district, who can help raise funds and awareness of public safety, energy security and health and human services programs, ensuring the public has access to information, resources and services to help them be safe and live better. As Director, District Field Office, you will work with neighboring Directors / Districts and the State Office to ensure the overall effectiveness of programs in the state. You may also be required to collaborate with Native American organizations to help provide support through community partnerships or delivery of our services to Indian Country.

It is important to understand where we are and what we are asking you to do. HSFA has many creative resources available to you to do your job, but due to the economy we don't have funding. You are not coming on board to go work in the District Field Office; you are coming on board to help build it. We will need to start up local activities for fund raising and coordinate with national efforts to get this position built and start organizing as urgently as funding permits. You will play a key role in making this happen. At the district level we have a unique opportunity to establish our office and deliver services that will bring new jobs into the community and improve overall security and the local economy.

This position reports directly to the Office of the President, HSFA. Open for all 435 US congressional districts. If more than one applicant applies, be prepred to work with each other to form a team and determine who will take this position, and who will take the support role. Together you will work to establish your area.

Again, this is a very serious commitment that can turn into a job based on performance and available funding. Please, serious responses only. Send your resume to careers@hsfamerica.org, ATTN: Lloyd Bumanglag, Chief of Staff,
