The American Cancer Society of Modesto is planning our forth annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, on October 18. This event brings over 2,000 people to Gallo Center for the Arts and raises essential funds for breast cancer treatment and programs. To make this happen we need a dedicated volunteer committee to plan and carry out our event. Our committee meets once monthly and members handle things like:
- Solicit donations
- Plan fundraisers
- Assist team leaders with sign up and other questions
- Recruit volunteers for the day of the event
- Plan event logistics
- Recruit community support
- And much, much more.
Even if you're not able to come to monthly meetings, we'd still love your support. The Volunteer Committee is a core group for our events. Please contact me if you have ANY questions

Description
The American Cancer Society's signature fundraiser is The Relay For Life. This is a 24 hour community based event that raises funds and awareness for cancer. We celebrate cancer survivors and their caregivers, remember those who have lost their battle to cancer, and we commit to fighting back against a disease that has already taken too much from too many.
The American Cancer Society provides free services to cancer patients and their caregivers. We provide transportation to cancer patients to and from their cancer treatments, we offer support groups for cancer patients and caregivers, we offer mileage reimbursement to cancer patients to and from their cancer treatments, and we provide funds and hope at the annual Relay For Life events that take place around the world. We fund researchers to find a cure for cancer.
