Volunteers provide Compassionate Care to our Hospice Patients... and their Families!

Canyon Home Care & Hospice is currently seeking both Administrative and Patient Care Volunteers for our Hospice Patients - Valley Wide!!.

Whatever you're good at--whether it be answering phones and assisting our staff, to simply listening, playing a musical instrument, painting nails, or reading aloud - you can make a difference in the lives of hospice patients who are visiting one of our inpatient units.

Volunteers are an integral part of our Hospice Team, and any time spent assisting our team - or caring for a patient, enhances the quality of life for that patient and their family members.

Free Hospice Volunteer Certification training provided. No experience needed. Please contact Viviana Negron, Volunteer Coordinator at 602-216-2273, or vnegron@canyonhc.com.

Thank you!

Description

The word "Hospice" means, "a place of shelter for travelers on a difficult journey."

Hospice care is a team-oriented approach to expert medical care and pain management of the patient, and emotional and spiritual support for the patient's family and friends. The patient's wishes are always considered and respected. Hospice philosophy is based on the belief that patients have the right to die with dignity and without pain, while enjoying the highest quality of life possible. The focus is not on curative measures, but rather relief of symptoms. the patient and family are encouraged to participate in planning and performing the care, to the extent that they wish to do so.
