ORGANIZATION: Junior Achievement of Northern California

Students in Northern California Need Your Expertise!!!

Volunteers will show students the relationship between school and the world of work, focusing on career skills, financial skills and the benefits of staying in school.

JA DAY

Junior Achievement provides fun activities, facilitated by you to a classroom of students. Teachers remain in the classroom, providing support and encourage the

learning taking place. Volunteers may partner with a coworker or volunteer solo in the classroom.

Junior Achievement will provide you with the necessary training and materials.

A volunteer’s job is to:

  • Teach five JA lessons during a day of school

  • Be a role model to students

  • Share past education and professional experience

  • Enjoy recess with the students

  • Improve presentation skills by being in front of students

  • Inspire young people to stay in school and prepare for a life of success!

  • Event is Friday October 10, 2014

  • 8:00 AM-1:00PM

Junior Achievement of Northern California (JA) achieves this mission through teaching students about their expanding roles as individuals, consumers, employees, employers, and productive members of our society. Working in partnership with over 4,000 community and corporate volunteers, we provide empowering programs to K-12 students across 26 counties in Northern and Central California. Alameda, Calaveras, Contra Costa, Fresno, Humboldt, Inyo, Madera, Marin, Mariposa, Mendocino, Merced, Mono, Monterey, Napa, San Benito, San Francisco, San Joaquin, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Solano, Sonoma, Stanislaus, Kings, Tulare, Glenn, and Tuolumne.
