We’re looking for talented, committed individuals to help lead our response to Typhoon Haiyan in Tacloban as programme coordinators.

We’re looking for individuals to fill several key roles.

As Volunteer Coordinator you’ll ensure that we have the volunteers we need to plan and execute all of our projects in Tacloban. While primarily office based, the Volunteer Coordinator will also have ample opportunity to get involved with a variety of projects in the field.

As Base Coordinator you will be responsible for ensuring that our accommodation and office facilities run smoothly. This is critical to ensuring that the rest of the team stays productive and that everyone has a safe, enjoyable time while with IDV. This role would also fit an individual with excellent organisational and communications skills.

As Media Coordinator you will work closely with IDV’s Head of Media and Marketing in the UK to gather beneficiary profiles, stories and testimonials. The Media Coordinator will also help maintain IDV’s social media presence and take on a variety of other media projects. Related experience or qualifications are essential.

Working overseas as a member of our Deployment Management Team is a fantastic way to gain experience if you are interested in a humanitarian career. RedR in the UK refers volunteers to IDV for this very reason and many of our past volunteers are now employed by larger charities and NGOs.

Coordinators are members of our Deployment Management Team (DMT). All DMT members receive free room and board, paid expenses, and phone allowance as standard. Aditional benifits - including a stipend - might be considered for the right candidate.

Volunteer Coordinator would ideally have HR experience, but this is not required. If you have good people skills and communications skills we would be happy to welcome you.

Base Coordinator must have strong organisational skills and work well under stressful circumstances.

Media Coordinator must have relevant experience or qualifications

About GlobalGiving

Mission Statement

Build an efficient, open, thriving marketplace that connects people who have community and world-changing ideas with people who can support them.

Description

GlobalGiving was founded by two former World Bank executives who decided to use the Internet to create a highly efficient marketplace. The GlobalGiving platform enables more funding to reach projects throughout the globe, and, at the same time, provides a more transparent, engaging way for donors to give.
Because we enable donors to give directly to projects, they know exactly where their money is going. Donors can see progress updates on most projects as funding is received and goals are met.

Donations made through GlobalGiving are higher impact because:

  • Money is going directly to a well-defined project versus supporting general operating expenses
  • Projects on globalgiving.com have exposure to thousands of donors, enabling us to aggregate multiple sources of funding for each project
  • Many projects on globalgiving.com are located in the developing world where a little money goes a long way
