Angels Grace Hospice is looking for people who would like to make short visits to hospice patients in the Naperville. These visits take place in area nursing homes, assisted living homes, or patient homes. Hospice patients have a terminal illness with a prognosis of 6 months or less. Volunteers offer them caring companionship by talking with them, reading out loud, listening to music with them, looking at photos together and letting them share their memories with you. Some patients might not be able to talk very much because of their illnesses. Your presence - sitting quietly with them, holding their hands, etc. can bring them comfort. Part of the volunteer experience is working with other volunteers - doing joint visits and training and mentoring newer volunteers. Must be at least 18 years of age.

Background check, drug screen, and 2-step TB test are all required, and are all paid for by Angels Grace Hospice.

Description

Angels Grace Hospice is a new, locally owned and operated organization which is licensed in the state of Illinois. Angels Grace is dedicated to providing excellent care when a life-limiting illness no longer responds to curative treatments. Hospice care is provided in the patient's home, family member's homes, long-term care facilities and hospitals. The patient's and the family's medical, social, emotional and spiritual needs are addressed by a team of hospice professionals and volunteers.
