Volunteers needed to provide practical, social, and emotional support to hospice patients and their families in their own homes, group homes or skilled nursing facilities. Each situation is unique and we welcome creativity however some tasks might involve: reading to a patient, sitting with a patient while their caregiver runs errands, helping to prepare a meal or write letters. In addition if you enjoy office work, we are always in need of assistance in our administrative office helping with such tasks as filing, typing, organizing, mailings etc.

Description

Volunteers give their time and talents to provide companionship and socialization to hospice patients and their families. Volunteers may watch TV or movies, play cards or games, assist with meal preparation or just chat about current events or days gone by.

Volunteers are also needed in our administrative office to assist with filing, mailings and other general office duties.

Volunteers receive FREE orientation and ongoing education as well as the full support of the Volunteer Coordinator and the Interdisciplinary Team.
