ON-SITE SUPERVISOR: Construction Manager

REPORTS TO: Construction Manager

GENERAL SUMMARY: Habitat Greater San Francisco is looking for internship applicants who are interested in learning some basic skills in the plumbing trade. A 28-condo development in San Francisco will be the training site for a great opportunity to learn a trade while contributing to a good cause. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Participants must be at least 17 years old and commit to working three days per week for 12 weeks at the site. The site is one mile from Daly City BART, and is easily accessible from many other forms of public transportation as well.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the guidance of the Construction Managers, residential plumbing interns will assist with the plumbing installation for our new 28 home development.

EXPERIENCE: Some experience in construction helpful, but none is necessary.

SCHEDULE/TIME COMMITMENT: Participants must commit to working three days per week for 12 weeks at the site.

TRAINING PROVIDED: Interns will be trained in various plumbing tasks based on the scope of work available during their participation. The safe use of basic power tools will always be included, along with lessons on waste water systems, water supply systems and natural gas systems.
