The Friendly Home Visiting Program assigned volunteers to visit lonely homebound seniors for an hour a week. The purpose of this program is to enable older adults to remain in their homes and communities, maintaining their independence, as long as possible. Volunteers are matched based on geographic location, shared interests, and volunteer schedule. Many long-lasting friendships have begun through this program.
