Seeking 1-3 adult volunteers to assist in preparing for the annual Book Sale at Plano Centre. Volunteers would need to be available for the 3 days of the Book Sale (Fri-Sun, Aug 8, 9 & 10) 4-8 hours a day. The rest of the year would need to volunteer 1-2 hours a week on a flexible schedule.

Summary: Book Sale duties include having large signs organized, up-to-date and ready for Aug 8. Assemble/disassemble and re-pack PVC frames and sign at Plano Centre. Order, fix or create new signs as needed.

Required skills: Organizational and repair skills needed, ability to work as team member and supervisor other volunteers. Applicant must have intermediate skills in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.

Detailed description: During the Book Sale, volunteer(s) will need to assemble PVC signage (up to 28" x 28") and PVC frames (parts up to 3 feet long). Volunteers will guide and supervise other volunteers to assemble/disassemble and re-pack frames and signs. During the year (Sep-July) volunteers will need to sort and repair signs and PVC frames, track sign inventory on MS Word or PowerPoint, assist with inventory and changes of signs and frames and document changes. Training will be provided for all duties.

Friends of the Plano Public Library is a non-profit, membership organization dedicated to supporting the libraries in Plano, Texas. Funds from past book sales have provided robotics and science kits, eBooks, eMagazines, family programs, summer events and much more to all 5 Plano Public Libraries.
