The Antelope Valley Senior Center (AVSC) is designed to provide an array of educational, social, and recreational activities to persons 50 years and older. Meet new friends, discuss current events, eat a meal, receive emergency food, attend a presentation or special celebration, teach or attend a class. The opportunities you've waited a lifetime to take advantage of are right here at your local senior center. Volunteers are needed in all areas of senior center operation! To learn more about the upcoming programs and events, visit the center and ask for a copy of our current activities schedule.

Description
The Antelope Valley Senior Center is designed to provide an array of educational, social, and recreational activities to persons 50 years and older. Working with other County Departments and community based organizations the AVSC provides informative educational forums, recreational fun day trips, exercise, Tai Chi, art, quilting, crochet & knitting classes, arts & crafts, needlepoint, bingo, library services, card games (canasta, cribbage, & euchre), billiards, puzzles, diabetes class, and singing. Antelope Valley Senior Center also provides food bank distribution to income-qualifying seniors over 60, and telephone reassurance calls to the homebound. Adult protective and mental health services and programs as well as other social services, recreational activities, and evening programs (dance groups, English as a second language class, computer and photography clubs) are all part of the center’s activities.
