Are you looking for a rewarding volunteer opportunity? Volunteers and their therapy certified dogs are needed to visit patients on Heartland Hospice Services. Volunteers and their therapy dogs provide companionship and social interaction for patients that enjoy animals and would like visitors. All dogs must be current on vaccines and certified as a pet therapy dog. Please contact Heartland Hospice if you have questions about the certification process. This is a rewarding experience for patients and volunteers! Please call our office today at 715-344-4541 and ask for our Volunteer Coordinator, Mary, to learn how to join our team! You can also email at Mary at Mary.Dulske@Heartlandhospice.com.

Mission Statement

We believe that our mission is to enrich lives. That begins with every life we encounter: our employees, our patients and those who love and care for them, the communities in which we operate, our stakeholders and those who are yet to become our customers.

Description

Hospice is a special kind of care designed to provide comfort care as well as spiritual and emotional support for terminally ill patients and their families. Hospice focuses on enhancing the quality of life, rather than the length of life. It neither hastens nor postpones death; rather it affirms life and acknowledges dying as a normal process. Hospice care stresses human values that go beyond the physical needs of the patient. It ensures that patients spend the end of their life in dignity and comfort.

At Heartland, we consider our involvement with each patient a sacred opportunity and a privilege to be in their lives. We depend on our hospice volunteers to help us provide the love, respect and care our patients and their families need.

Volunteers offer support, companionship and practical, compassionate help. Some volunteers interact directly with patients and families, while others prefer to work behind the scenes in the office setting. As a volunteer, you would help us decide which tasks your are comfortable performing.
