ORGANIZATION: L.A. Works

L.A. Works

Are you experienced with the myriad database options available, particularly low-cost web-based solutions? One of our nonprofit partners could benefit greatly from your expertise! Kid City Hope Place provides mentoring and after school programs to children and youth in the downtown Los Angeles area, focusing on healthy living, college readiness and job readiness.

KCHP currently uses an ad-hoc system of spreadsheets to track data on volunteer mentors and students, and they would like to move to a more comprehensible, searchable and user-friendly database solution. They need someone to assess their data landscape, recommend and help implement a solution. You could be the one to revolutionize their data management!

This is a deep-dive-type project, and as a volunteer you will work one-on-one as a coach with this organization to help them choose and implement a solution that fits into their strategic plan for serving the community. After an initial meeting to decide on the right solution for the organization and scope the project, we’ll turn you loose to apply your expertise to building KCHP’s capacity to serve those in need!
