We are in need of additional volunteers for our fabulous event - Taste of Park Place on Saturday, April 26. More information about the event can be found here: www.newhouseshelter.org/events Newhouse has an opportunity to earn an additional $8,500 by encouraging people to take a Lincoln car test drive. For every test drive, Lincoln will donate $20 to Newhouse, up to $8,500. We are looking for volunteers to help recruit test drivers from 4 to 7 pm. Volunteers will also have an opportunity to check out the shops and enjoy a complimentary $5 savings card and V.I.P. offers at select retailers.

The mission of NEWHOUSE is to break the cycle of domestic violence by providing the tools that allow women to make positive choices and lead self-sufficient lives.
Description
Newhouse provides access, admittance and residence in temporary shelter for victims of domestic violence and their children 24-hours a day, every day of the year. Newhouse takes a comprehensive approach in meeting the needs of the women and children who turn to Newhouse for emergency shelter and for relief from the crushing distress of domestic violence.
Newhouse has served Kansas City's urban core for 42 years. In 2012, Newhouse provided 24,769 bednights to 792 residents (511 women and 281 children). Newhouse answered 9,248 emergency hotline calls and served 661 victims in the Municipal Domestic Violence Court system.
