Vehicle donation needed!

One of our members who was recently hospitalized, and has a mild mental/emotional disability (and is currently on SSI disability - which can be verified upon request), is in need of a vehicle (automatic transmission).

The vehicle will be used by this member to make therapy visits, go shopping, and attend social groups relevant to recovery. The ultimate goal is to use the vehicle to get to and from work once the member is able to do so.

The vehicle must be donated to our organization free of charge. Our IRS tax exemption status allows a 50% tax write-off on any such donations.

While we would appreciate a vehicle in the best condition possible, one with some wear and tear (and even minor rusting) would be acceptable. Gas mileage is not that big of an issue given the fact that most commutes would be short in length.

The vehicle donation should be done locally as to avoid any costly transportation issues. By local we mean in or around the Springfield Massachusetts area. This will also give us an opportunity to do a spot check of the vehicle before hand.
