New refugee families often need assistance with various tasks (i.e., learning bus and metro routes, filling out paperwork, studying for a driver’s permit test, sorting through mail, understanding the school calendar and holidays, learning how to leave informational messages). Location: in the client’s home , or in an agreed upon location as often as needed (usually more in the beginning, but less as time goes on and family is self-sufficient).

About Migration & Refugee Services
Location:
325-B Wallace Street, Fredericksburg, VA 22401, US
Mission Statement
Seek to implement the mission of social justice in ways that strengthen individuals, families, and communities.
Description
A comprehensive array of resettlement services are offered so as to help newcomers "get on their feet" and become self-sufficient as soon as possible after arrival. Staff members offer case management services in culturally appropriate languages - presently we have 20 languages on staff. These services are made possible by grants from the Virginia Office of Newcomer Services, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, and through the financial support of churches, parishes, groups, and individual donors.
The needs of Catholic Charities Migration & Refugee Services (MRS) are many and varied. Any amount of time or effort that you are able to contribute truly will be appreciated. You can get started by going to the link below and completing the online application.
