VISTA will help organization build capacity by engaging and educating public about the impact and importance of service dogs. Assisting in the building a statewide volunteer program, including developing volunteer job descriptions, volunteer logs, a volunteer training/orientation manual and policies that will guide volunteer program. Assisting in research to identify and document statewide organizations such as; service clubs, dog clubs, kennels, breeders, veterinary clinics, businesses and other partners for presentations, volunteer recruitment and a donor base and have opportunities to work closely with the Fund Development Director and assist in developing various fundraising events and building a scholarship fund.

VISTA members commit to one year of national service, at a minimum. They receive a modest living allowance, limited health coverage, an education award or cash stipend upon successful completion of a year of service, childcare assistance if applicable, and many training and career development opportunities.
