ORGANIZATION: ServeYES! (AmeriCorps*State and VISTA)

**NOTE: North Dakota has a serious housing shortage. If you plan to apply for this position you should either a) have housing secured, or b) explore housing options BEFORE applying.

Giving Learning supports the Fargo-Moorhead area’s growing refugee population (approximately 400 new arrivals each year, plus significant secondary migration) and enhances the quality of life for volunteers who are introduced to the cultures, foods, and politics of Bosnia, Somali, Sudan, Bhutan, Nepal, Iraq, Burundi, Rwanda, Congo, Afghanistan, and many other countries. The program is central to making Fargo a welcoming community and successful resettlement city.

The VISTA member will support the project director in all major functions of the project, including volunteer management and support, developing training and assessment plans, writing grant proposals and fundraising, and developing infrastructure and building capacity for the organization.

VISTA members commit to one year of national service, at a minimum. They receive a modest living allowance, limited health coverage, an education award or cash stipend upon successful completion of a year of service, childcare assistance if applicable, and many training and career development opportunities.
