We are hosting our 3rd Annual Healthy Family Carnival Night at Gilbert Heights Elementary School! This is a opportunity to support the community members to connect with dozens of local resources, win fun raffle prizes and play carnival games. In the past we have served over 400 people at this event! This year we are asking volunteers to come help run carnival games, help with face painting, provide logistical support for the event and help families find different activities/resource tables. That way our families can participate and take their time to connect with the resources that best suit them, while having a fun family night out!

Mission Statement
SUN School programming at Gilbert Heights serves children, adults and families who are homeless, living in poverty and/or at risk of academic failure - primarily from the school neighborhood, but services are open to anyone. Our school represents families at 80% free and reduced lunch with a diverse student and family population.
Description
As a SUN Community school, we are working toward transforming our schools into community learning centers. We work to link with other community institutions, such as the libraries, parks and community centers, neighborhood health clinics and area churches and businesses to:
- Extend the school day and broaden the educational resources for the community.
- Bring and coordinate services to the community.
- Bring the community together to break down isolation and strengthen families.
- Build relationships across generations, cultures and incomes.
