Volunteers are essential to keeping the ReStore running smoothly! Sales Floor volunteers work with the managers, staff and other volunteers to manage one or more sections of the store, keep donations moving through our stock room, get donated items ready to hit the floor, keep store sections stocked and tidy, and assist with customer service by serving as a resource to shoppers on the sales floor.

Responsibilities:

• Learn the pricing structure for donated items
• Help donation center volunteers clean and organize donations and get them ready for the sales floor
• Carry items to the sales floor
• Provide excellent service to all customers
• Organize items and maintain cleanliness of the store
• Assist in rearranging vignettes and other special displays
• Assist customers in carrying items to the curb

Requirements:

• Knowledge of and commitment to the mission of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Memphis
• Ability to work closely with ReStore staff, donors, volunteers, Habitat homeowners and customers
• Comfortable asking questions
• Self-sufficient, cooperative attitude
• Excellent customer service skills

• Ability to bend, squat, or stand for at least 4 hours at a time
• After a short "audition" period, at least a once a month commitment is needed, but more often is preferred.

Training:

On-site training is provided by a ReStore manager or lead volunteer. Most volunteers are fully trained within three to four volunteer shifts.
